What Is a Local Rank Tracker?
A local rank tracker (also called a GeoGrid rank tracker) shows you how your business ranks in Google Maps results from different geographic points. Unlike a regular rank check that gives you one position, a GeoGrid reveals how rankings vary across your entire service area.
Why GeoGrid Rankings Matter
Google Maps rankings change dramatically based on the searcher's location. A business might rank #1 for customers nearby but drop to #15 just a few miles away. The GeoGrid visualization helps you understand your true local visibility and identify areas where you need to improve.
How to Use This Tool
- Enter your business name exactly as it appears on Google Maps

Understanding the Results
Green (1-3): You're in the Google Maps 3-pack — the top visible results. Yellow (4-7): You're close but not in the 3-pack. Red (8-20): You rank but aren't easily visible. Gray: Not found in the top 20.
